Stinky Dog

Hubbie gave the dog a rawhide bone yesterday. Today his toots are very fragrant.

New Project

When I started this blog I was thinking about cross-stitching and tapestry type stitching but I figure it takes me so long to do my sewing projects they can count as stitching too.
Eldest brought his wallet out of the safekeeping of his sock drawer and it got spilt everywhere so youngest scored some dough and I got $15 bucks out of it. Eldest eventually got upset. He didn't stop playing games when we told him it was a problem so blegh. Anyway, youngest now has some cash floating around his sock drawer so I decided to make them matching but different wallets with a monogram. Did some Googling and found Sewchristine's tutorial.  Went to Spotlight today and got some materials ($18).  I plan to have them two tone with a push stud fastener instead of velcro and no clippy strap thingo.  I plan to stitch the monogram with ribbon. That's going to be a challenge because it's not something I've done before and I may have to carefully calculate where it needs to go and do it first.

Ah, Childhood

Been watching The Goonies on telly. They inspired many games and map making in my childhood.
Did a little bit while we were at MIL's but the light was bad so I did more when we got home. There was a bit of a lightning storm tonight but didn't get to see much of it as we were watching Tin Tin (ok movie but I wouldn't go out and buy it) and the storm had pretty much finished by the time we were driving home. Also, my cropping software sucks today.

Job's Done

I must admit my backside needs some work. It's a bit wonky.
So she was Medieval Queen Bookmark Kit made in bonny Scotland by Textile Heritage, Item Number BKMQ.

Whoo, Nearly Finished!

This morning Hubbie & youngest went for an epic walk with the dog. Eldest played Little Big Planet until his eyes bled. I back stitched with interspersions of "what does this say mum?"
Now all that's left to do is the tassel and green felt backing. Whoot!

One Week Left

So, the contributions to the Mothers' Day Sale are due 4th May. I've got just under a week. Back stitching does my head in! Can't cross off on the pattern the bits I've done.
After this I'll have to finish the butterfly bookmark.

Box watching

Watched A Life Less Ordinary. Bit different. Cute.
Finished cross-stitching and started on back-stitching.

ANZAC Day

We didn't go to any dawn services or parades but we did talk to the kids about what it's all about.  We drove to a beach near Fremantle to have a squizz at the US aircraft carrier anchored out there. Massive.
The kids were kind enough to bug Dad for most of today so I got some stitching done:
She can see you now.

Pecked out her eyes

I've been watching the blind auditions for The Voice Australia. Don't have to put up with the people who are truly deluding themselves. Had some sore losers on this episode though. Saw them on Today Tonight (or similar, always confusing them) having a cry.
The judges/coaches turning their chairs is so subjective it's kind of ridiculous.
Just have the border, dress, flowers, backstitching and then putting the tassle and felt backing on and she's done. Maybe another couple of nights.

ARgh!!

Can't a girl just update her blog without the 20 bloody questions!?

Merry Easter, or something

My cropping software hates me. It tends to bomb at least once but tonight it's feeling especially affectionate and has died 3 times.  Hence you get to see more of my table than usual.
